Do we have any responsibility to prevent accidents? Is there no accountability for ignoring danger or failing to take reasonable caution?
Take for instance a child who is told to move their glass of milk back further on the table. The child ignores the warning and sure enough the milk gets spilled. But, then the loving parents, who don't believe in punishment, allows the child to plead it was an accident, does nothing.
You hear it all the time from children and even adults. I didn't mean too, it was on accident!
A recent traffic accident on ice covered I-70 highway near hear is an example. The car was traveling much to fast for conditions. They could have observed several vehicles already off the road from losing control. This particular vehicle went out of control and crossed the median and struck a truck head on. Was it an excusable accident? Should that driver's estate or insurance company be required to pay for damages to the other vehicles and persons?

And, incidentally, I'm sure God prefers one football team over another one. Don't you think so? The team that has the most prayer support is sure to win!

Brent, we are definitely "like minded." Although, I did not hear this young man's response, I think he must be an outstanding godly young man. As his parent, I would be so very proud of him. I know the Lord must be.

Regarding the other observations you made, I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY. Society today is convinced that a person "deserves whatever." No one deserves anything! It is totally unbiblical.

People have gone down the deep end, I'm afraid. There is no reverence for the things of God nor for God. This is basically a "godless" society we live in. God is letting people have it "their way"...and, that will lead to irrepairable destruction.

I, too, was impressed by Colt McCoy's spiritual maturity! It is not very often, these days, that you come across someone that displays this openly...much less, on national tv!

As for all of your other random thoughts...I wholeheartedly AGREE!!

Hope you and your family are well, and that you are having a Blessed New Year!
