I wish I could get a gagillion people to join me in a rebellion against all the industries that have convinced us we need all the stuff they say we need but when you really stop and think about it we don’t: Who says kids need a whole new wardrobe every school year? Who says weddings have to cost tens of thousands of dollars for all the stuff you MUST have? Who says you have to have a new car? Who says you have to wear the latest (or popular) fashions? Who says we have to keep adding new holidays where gifts, flowers, candy, cards and dinner out are obligatory? I’m not anti-”stuff” or holidays… it’s just getting ridiculous how much pressure is put on people to conform (spend money) to “traditions” that suspiciously always seem to be highly profitable for those pushing it.

We don’t teach our real America history anymore. What history we do pass on (schools, TV, etc.) is a politically correct liberal spin with an agenda as well as highly selective (ie. feminism, white greed, environmental atrocity). We do not teach and educate about the foundational documents of our country (the MOST incredible in man’s history short of the Bible) unless it is to undermine or antiquate them. Since the 60’s, the government, public schools and the media have droned incessantly on the message of wealth redistribution and socialism, bringing it in via the Trojan horse of civil rights (not genuine civil rights… the politically correct version), discrimination, class envy, and blatant brain washing via the education system. For 200 years we hammered home our real history, the reasons our government worked (founding principles), the Bible and we rightly “social engineered” with the Judeo-Christian principles of hard work, personal responsibility, accountability to a higher standard (God) and constantly instilled that America was great and exceptional because of those things. We’re too “enlightened” for that now, right?

You know a town takes its sports seriously when there are paid uniform professional umpires doing a five year old girls T-ball game. And not just ONE umpire for the game. Two. No lie. Saw it with my own eyes.

Would you PLEASE quit saying “no problem” and go back to saying “YOU’RE WELCOME”? I know it’s no problem for you, Miss Waitress to refill my tea. You’re getting paid to do it. I know it’s no problem for you, Mr. College Guy to give me my change at the register. I know it’s no problem for me to do something kind for you. SAY THANK YOU. “No problem” sounds like you were entitled to be thanked and it’s only by your grace you even make the effort to acknowledge it. I guess maybe that fits in today’s entitlement minded world. In that case, no problem.

Are you so open-minded your brain has fallen out?

You know you live in rural Oklahoma when you go to get gas and the cashier starts telling you: “yeah we run out of gas the other day and it took my brother’s cousin four hours to come get us and my husband was all cranky ’cause he got all his teeth pulled that day…”

I’ve followed your daughter’s story for quite some time, and since her victory over cancer, I’ve continued to check in occasionally because I find your family interesting. Although I disagree with you on many of the subjects that you speak about, I do find your point of view interesting, and they are usually well thought out and well founded. I’m curious, though, about why you say that the US no longer teaches “real American history”, but rather “politically correct liberal spin with an agenda as well as highly selective (ie. feminism, white greed, environmental atrocity).” I’m in my mid-twenties, and although it’s been a little while since I graduated from the public school system, I do feel like I learned American History. I know kids in the Public School system, and I do feel like the kids who attend well-performing schools are getting an education that includes real American History. I agree that many schools are failing our kids in many, many aspects of education, but not because of liberal spin. (Although I’m not a real fan of the Tonight Show, I find the segment he does called “Jay Walking” to be a frightening example of the ridiculous things people don’t know.) I guess I’m just asking what you mean by saying that children are learning under the “Trojan horse of civil rights (not genuine civil rights… the politically correct version), discrimination, class envy, and blatant brain washing via the education system.” I know you have no obligation to further explain your stance, I’m just curious and would love to hear how you would support your argument. Many Blessings,
Amanda

Ok, I cringed at the poor grammar “We run out of gas…”. I have SUCH a pet peeve with the dumbing down of society that I find myself sometimes correcting people…”Oh, you RAN out of gas?”…subtly, not overtly rudely, but still correcting…um, and wouldn’t the brother’s cousin ALSO be their cousin? GAH!
Yes, I believe that society has been forced to be so open minded that their brains HAVE fallen out! I am so tired of politically correct…
